It’s my birthday today and as I decided to treat myself to a full day of crafting. I made 2 layouts and 4 backgrounds. At the end of that, I was covered in paint, gesso and glitter. It was so much fun.
Paint. It’s a scary option for me but, today, I was brave and played with paint from Ayeeda/13arts. For the background, I mixed Matte Pea with white gesso and used it to make random strokes on the card with a wide brush.
To add texture and colour, I mixed Metallic Turquoise with white gesso and using makeup sponge stamped it though a stencil.
While the background was drying, I started painting the embellishments. I used Matte and Metallic Turquoise to paint chipboard strips and Old Gold to paint a chipboard doily and one of the paper flowers.
I assembled all the embellishments on the page, mounted the photo on top and attached paper flowers.
To finish the layout off, I mixed some matte white glitter and grey grit and attached it randomly on the side of the photo; it added new texture and some sparkle.
So here it is, a layout of my parents promising to love each other forever…
