I’ve been working on ATCs again. The Facebook ATC Exchange group is getting bigger as new members keep joining so new cards need making and then posting all around the world.
This time, I made only 6 as I was working on an A4 watercolour paper. Using Ayeeda matte turquoise, matte pink and metallic turquoise paints, I made some random swirls adding water from time to time to vary the colour saturation and shades. Once it dried, I cut the sheet into 2.5×3.5 inch cards choosing the parts with the best background design. I used embossing ink, white powder and alphabet stamp from Kaisercraft to add a layer of texture and brighten up the card. In the meantime, I painted a strip of paper with the pink paint and randomly sprayed it with sparkling mist; I punched 6 circles out of it for embellishments and used the negatives as a ‘frame’ for the embellished lettering. Being an English teacher, I wanted to stick to the letters/words theme (my last set of ATCs had a ‘power word’ on each card). From my old Idiom Dictionary, I cut out some positive phrases (words of wisdom, work a treat, day dream, etc.) that I stapled to the pink circles. To finish it of, I sprinkled pink and green mist on the cards.
The final cards are very bright and I hope their new owners like them.
