Riding a Bike | Scrap Around The World

Hey! Nice to see you again.

Today, I’ve had a go at my second entry into the Scrap Around The World – September Challenge – you can find the mood board and rules following the link.

This time I took inspiration from the quote ‘Taking time to live life will only inspire your work‘.

I thought about all the things I have done as a child that I can now teach my son – riding a bike, climbing trees, playing football, appreciating nature and realising that there’s more to life than TV and computer games.

I decided to work with more pastel, pink colours this time. I used 12×12 baby pink card as a base; I used a stencil and white gesso to create designs on card, then added some stamping in grey over it. I made a paper cluster using some vintage-inspired papers, pink tags and cut outs from an old dictionary; to that I added strips of burlap (painted pink), a white doily, various chipboards and flower embellishments. To finish, I added 3D white paper flowers.

This page makes me think of summer days when I was about 6-8 and used to go to the park with my dad and ride my bike or just walk through the fields for hours and talk about random stuff. Good quality, family time – the most important thing in the world.
