Today, I wanted to show you the canvas I made using a variety of metal embellishments, 2 old brushes and two mica powders.
The canvas I used has been recycled from a winter project that I mad some time ago but didn’t really like. I removed the old elements as much as I could and then covered the remains with two layers of black gesso from 13arts.
The canvas itself had texture to it due to not all of the remains of the previous project having been removed. I started building up the layers and textures by attaching two brushes and then filling in the space with a variety of metal embellishments, adhesive pearls and mini pegs; once the adhesive dried, I painted everything with black gesso. In the spaces that still looked ‘naked’ I added microbeads, mica flakes and glitter.
I mixed two colours of mica powder (green and purple) with water in small spray bottles and sprayed them on the canvas. I repeated the spraying 3 times to ensure coverage.
Here are some close ups of the canvas.
And this is the final project.
Thank you for visiting me again.
See you soon.
