Coffee | National Scrapbooking Day

This weekend is an extension of yesterday’s National Scrapbooking Day and there are challenges all over the internet on various scrap blogs and scrap groups.

I was invited by the lovely ladies from For The Love Of Pretty Paper (UK Scrap Group) to set a challenge to run in their Facebook group.

COFFEE – that was the first thought that came to my head. I’ve been wanting to make a coffee inspired layout for a while but never actually got to do it. This was my chance. Luckily, they also thought it was a good idea so I set off to work.

I started from a white page and white gesso to create some basic texture; while that was drying, I made coffee. Used that coffee as paint and even ‘stamped’ some circles with the bottom of the cup. As embellishments under the photo, I used pieces of lace, loads of Silhouette cut-outs, a piece of chipboard doily (which I thought looked like a wafer), micro-beads and…ground coffee. Yes, you read it right – ground coffee! After attaching the photo (have you noticed how beautiful and detailed and metaphorical it is?), I decorated the side with brown thread, ivory coloured brad and coffee coloured flowers.

What do you think?

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your crafting on the NSD 2016!
