Today’s page is my entry into the December-January challenge at 7 Dots Studio; the challenge is called ‘Cold Weather’ and that is the only direction you are given here (apart from incorporating products from their range in you work, of course).
As a base, I used Rising of the Sun paper from the Love Is In The Air collection, which I covered with a layer of white gesso to give it a frosty, washed-out look. With texture paste and a stencil, I added star designs all over the background. I used 3 different blue mists as well as prussian blue Brusho powder and water mister to create layers of colour, on which I added another layer of textured stars and white and blue splatters. Once that dried, I started assembling the photo and embellishments. Using 3D foam squares for dimension, I mounted the photo on top of a chipboard frame and attached in desired position on the page. To decorate, I used floral bristle, paper flowers, chipboards and metal embellishments. As final touches, I added white mica flakes and white glitter as well as Snowflake paste all over the page to create snow-like effect.
Some close-ups here…
See you again soon.
